Hi I'm Mike
I’m the founder of EchoCultura Consulting.
I started this consultancy because I’ve seen firsthand how powerful storytelling, smart strategy, and deep cultural fluency can be for mission-driven organizations. Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked at the intersection of creativity, equity, and impact, helping nonprofits, artists, and cultural institutions build meaningful connections with their communities and audiences.
Throughout my career, I’ve led marketing and communications for arts organizations, served on nonprofit boards, mentored emerging creatives, and taught strategy to students and professionals. My work is rooted in the belief that storytelling is not an afterthought; it’s a catalyst.
In the for-profit world, I’ve held key roles at Warner Music, UniversalMcCann, and Meredith Corp., where I developed marketing strategies for global brands like Unilever, Coca-Cola, and People en Español—bridging business success with meaningful community impact.
As Director of Marketing and Communications at the nonprofit Belongó, I led a full-scale rebrand and digital transformation that increased audience engagement, strengthened donor communications, and positioned the organization as a leader in cultural preservation and social justice.
Currently, I serve on the Board of Trustees for the International School of Brooklyn and the Board of Directors for the New York Theatre Ballet, supporting initiatives that increase access to arts and education.
Whether I’m working on a national campaign or helping a grassroots team build their first communications plan, my goal is always the same: to help you tell your story with clarity, purpose, and resonance.
At EchoCultura, we partner with people and organizations that are doing the work to shift narratives, build systems, and move communities forward. If that sounds like you, I’d love to connect.
